I'm So Sad

Nov
05

I'm too disheartened to re-write the blog i just spent half an hour writing and accidently deleted so my view in short is that Obama's journey to Presidency is at risk of overshadowing his Presidency itself. I doubt it but this can often be the case regarding Woodrow Wilson. Ask me tomorrow if you would like me to elaborate but i am too upset to re write the 400 words i just deleted.

Obama's Victory and Palin's Tears

Nov

So Barack Obama is the new President Elect, has defeated the gloomy threat of aMcCain/Palin presidency and brought change not only to America, but, if I understand today's headlines of newspaper web pages correctly, to all of us.

Blears on Blogging

Nov

Without fanfare or comment I draw to your attention this piece by New Labour's favourite uber-Blairite, Hazel Blears. It is an edited version of a speech she will make to the Hansard Society. Ever wondered why journalists have such a long established tradition of resisting state regulation? Isn't Hazel marvellous?

Obama Breaks Down Barriers and Makes History

Nov
05

The election of Barack Hussein Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America is a truly momentous event. He has broken down racial barriers and proved that race is no hinderance to seeking high office. The most powerful man in the world is an African-American. This would have seemed unthinkable to people growing up in the Civil Rights era. Many thought that they would never see this day come.

The Hard Work Is Yet To Come

Nov

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate Barrack Obama on a landslide victory following on from a campaign which has embraced and captured the hearts of Americans. His election as next President is a monumental historical event, and I truly believe that he is capable of improving the current financial situation. However, we have yet to see any concrete evidence of policies which will systematically change the electorate's lives for the better. I'm sure he is full to the point of bursting with political breakthroughs, but the hype of the election has in my eyes clouded over this somewhat.

Medvedev's speech and general tensions

Nov

Over the last several years, the tensions between Europe and Russia have been increasing on topics ranging from trade to direct military confrontation.

It is well known, that a major part of gas and fossil energy used in Europe, originates from Russia and its controlled areas. It is also well known, that US has been planning to build a missile-defense shield all over the world - including areas bordering Russia. Russia has been complaining about the unjust situation that would follow such decisions.

President Obama

Nov

The election of Senator Barack Obama as President is truly a mile-stone in the history of today's world.
When I switched on my laptop this morning and connected to the internet I was greeted by home page spreads declaring Barack Obama to have "made history". For me this is huge.
This intelligent, family man is truly an inspiration to us all and I foresee a good time ahead of the USA if everything falls into place before the 20th of January.

Resurgent Roma Stun Chelsea

Nov
04

‘Goals change games’, or so the old adage goes.

Well Chelsea’s encounter with Roma this evening demonstrated this perfectly. Chelsea appeared to be in control before Christian Panucci lost his marker and put the Italians ahead.

What followed in the second half was in stark contrast to the first, as Mirko Vucinic added two more goals before John Terry grabbed a consolation strike to make it 3-1. The result leaves Group A wide open, with every single team in with a chance of making it out of the group and into the knockout stages.
